Could you get me a pic of how your hitch is set up on that flat bed? On my 450 there isn't any receiver just a 2 inch ball put through c channel and I am wanting to build something to accept a drop/raise hitch.

I've never seen an aftermarket hitch for a non C&C truck that bolts to the side of the frame. The next one that goes on will be getting a few gussets welded to it.

That hitch was a class V hitch. Wasn't a POS by any means

Than you had it overloaded?
Any hitch that will do that, loaded at or below it's rated weight, falls in the pos category, imo.
Gussets would definetly help, tho!

We had that problem on the red truck we just stripped. It's a pos hitch design! Bolted on the bottom of the frame, as opposed to the sides, too light of steel for the side plates, and general dumb@ssery.

You can't do that with most pickups because of the rear leaf spring hanger. A few extra gussets and a little extra plate of the sides wouldn't hurt for the next hitch.

Most of these are my vehicles or my fathers in the pics, I've towed lots for people like my girlfiends el camino and lifted b3000, friends civics and subarus. Heaviest is probably the f150, picked that up just to clean and re-sell.

Not a fan of it, but it works.

I saw that hitch on e-trailer. there is just too much goin on with that thing. I think I will just add a few gussets to my next hitch for some insurance. Still don't plan on overLoading it. Also gonna ditch the extra long hitch that adds more leverage on the reciver.
