I miss the train horns on my '11. So I've been looking at this kit for my '16.

http://www.airhornsoftexas.com/products/46115-hd-train-horn-kit

Only problem is I'm not sure where to mount the horns. Their dimensions are 18 x18 x8.5" the compressor and tank I have a location for. But after some measuring , only place for horns that looks like will work is where spare tire is, and not sure if I want to keep spare in truck bed.

Also looks like with a custom bracket I might be able to angle the horns and mount between bottom of bed and spare tire, if spare tire is a few inches lower.

Where has everyone mounted their horns?

If they'll fit put them between the outer bed skin and inner bed pointed down. They're much less directional there and much less prone to damage or water intrusion when pointed down. I know I got a Nathan K3LA there once. The only one I ever had problems fitting was a K5LA...it wound up replacing the spare tire on a Ram I had.

Mine are under the truck below the passenger seat. 28" Grovers. Only hang below the pinch weld a hair.

Thanks for advice. I think I found the perfect spot if I fab up custom mounts, then I don't have to remove spare tire.

Finally got these babies mounted. Built a custom bracket to use factory bolt holes in frame. Best part is they are unseen, and loud as hell. Air compressor and tank are mounted on passenger side frame rail under bed. Tank is hooked to aux4 switch, wired in a relay to air horn and factory horn. When aux4 is off regular horn works, when aux 4 is on, air tank compressor has power, and air horn works with regular horn.
