Yeah different story this morning. Dashdaq works every other time and my coolant fan comes on once I get to 45 and won't turn off until I get below 45mph again.

I'm having the same issues. Initially it was great after a few short test runs using my blackmaxx. Then a few days of idling in my driveway I could hear the exhaust tone changing back and forth between deep and slight hair dryer every 5-10 seconds. Vgt was opening and closing. But did not when driving in town. Then some erratic speedo and rpm fluctuations. And on my first highway trip the truck drove prefect but lost cruise control for about 40 min when the Vgt started opening and closing every 5-10 seconds again. Egts would shoot up and get smokey, then go back to normal. Then the lost communication with instrument cluster code. It's sad paying good hard earned money on junk that just doesn't work as advertised. Or at least before it's fully tested. So has any body with the same issues had a chance to try the 2nd version? If it wasn't Saturday I'd call BD.

Second version cleared all my issues and haven't had any since putting it on.

We have a customer having issues with his VGT and he is on V2 already. He has transmission codes and VGT codes after a couple weeks of driving it they start to show their faces.

This is the second complete kit we have put on his truck and its no better now than when we first put it on.

Something needs to be done with it quickly, lots of $500 unhappy units out there it seems like.

Minimaxx, GH tune and a single turbo. All my EGR/DPF/VGT stuff is turned off.

Ah! Well the biggest issue we have had thus far was the shifter not letting the VGT work at all, it goes wide open and stays there until you clear the codes and then it'll operate normal for a bit. But check engine lights come on quite often and the vane's going MIA is a bit of an issue haha

Yeah I haven't had the stock turbos in years ( or even a VGT for that matter ), so I guess I'm not a good candidate for an example of an average user.

I have a mini maxx in my truck and I ordered the tap shifter and I got the version 1.2. I had all sorts of issues including different exhaust tones, exhaust gas recirculation flow code came on, and also my mini maxx would freeze and sometimes couldn't start the truck. I called BD for about 2 months straight and everytime they referred me to downloading the newest version of the mini maxx or re-wiring everything or re-programming the truck. None of which changed a thing. Finally I called BD and spoke with Dan Kizmann. I told him the problems I was having and told him that I've tried 10 or more things BD has suggested and none worked. He then filled out warranty papers for me and sent me the version 2.0. I hooked it all up and the truck runs flawlessly. The tap shifter is definately a must have if you do any type of towing. If you're having any issues with your tap shifter I would highly recommend calling Dan Kizmann at BD. He was a great guy to talk to and after multiple calls to BD he was by far the most helpful and informational.

Did they get all the bugs worked out on this? And do you have to put in that ugly ass monitor that tells you what gear you are in? I have h&s xrtpro for tuner and edge cts for gauges and that will tell me what gear iam in. Just looking for some recent feed back really interested in this.

Last I heard, yes they did get all the bugs worked on with the newest module just don't try to flash the truck with a tune with the tapshifter OBD harness plugged in.

When I forgot to unplug the module and tuned the truck with the SCT, it got to the TCM programming and froze. The engine file went in fine.
