    194K 6.7 Platinum

No need to worry; the "typewriter" is completely normal on heavy duty diesel engines. Ford released a service bulletin to inform dealers that no diagnosis or repairs are necessary. The noise is simply more audible on the 6.7 because its such a quiet engine to begin with. The noise you are...

    The dreaded engine ticking

It's a normal noise on almost all HD diesel engines. You couldn't hear it on older engines because they were so loud, but it was still there. When the oil is is new (clean, no carbon) it will create a ticking sound as it passes through the bearing surfaces (hydrodynamic lubrication). As the...

    Help...starting system failure

Do you have any aftermarket modifications? Things like remote start, anti-theft, insurance DLC monitor, lighting, or audio? All of those things can result in a starting system fault, and they are the cause 99.9% of the time.

    tuned 6.7 low boost issue

You mentioned a KOER Self Test...are you using IDS for testing? If so, run the low pressure and high pressure fuel system tests. That will tell you which system the issue is occurring in.

    Rear Window Defroster Not Working

    Awesome, glad to hear that.

    Rear Window Defroster Not Working

ESP can be a PITA. That's definitely an electrical issue, probably the contacts in the glass went bad. ESP should cover that, don't let them off easy by paying out of pocket; they should be covering that repair 100%.

    my ford touch input

My Ford Touch (Sync Gen 2) isn't a bad system. I've had 2 vehicles with it and I've never had any issues. The majority of issues you've heard of are caused by people pairing phones with huge phonebooks (thousands of numbers) and by using devices that are not listed on the SYNC Compatibility...

    my new 6.7

It does. An '11 F-250 uses the dual-boost Garrett GT32 turbo; it has dual inlets and dual compressor wheels. One compressor is smaller to reduce lag, while the other is larger and provides boost under heavy loads/high RPM. This design was specifically chosen for the new (2011) 6.7 diesel due...

    2015 f250 key code stole

Did you have it properly programmed by the dealer? They aren't plug-and-play.

    my new 6.7

I wouldn't even look at the average MPG reading until the truck is broken in. These engines are tight, you should see a good improvement after about 1,000 miles. Also, don't do all highway miles, as the rings will not seat as well due to the constant engine speed and low load. City miles with...

    Cab light question

What power wire did you tap into? Your vehicle uses a Smart Junction Box (SJB) to provide power to the lighting. That means that every lighting output is measured for amperage and faults. If you tap into one of those wires, the SJB will detect the high amperage draw and disable the entire...

    2011 vs 2014 engine

2015 engines had the following changes: 440 HP and 860 lb-ft of torque New Garrett GT37 Turbocharger, non-wastegated New High Pressure Fuel Pump and Injectors New polymer coating on main bearings for improved wear-and-tear durability and lower friction Improved crankshaft fillet design—the...

PS pump change now no brake HELP!

Brake boosters can only provide a lack of assist, they cannot cause a soft or low brake pedal unless they are mechanically damaged. Since it now stops normally, what you are experiencing may be booster step through. That's essentially when you push the pedal to the floor at a stop, increasing...

    p2610, c1155, c1233

The DTC P2610 indicates an error in the internal PCM engine off timer processor. That typically means a bad PCM, or a bad tune/calibration in the PCM. Chances are it's related to the tune you have. Try reflashing it to stock and see if the DTC clears.

    Another no start

The early (2003) Rexroth pumps are tricky. They will often produce sufficient pressure during testing (dead headed), but will not support the volume of oil needed to operate the injectors. The HPOP can be dead-headed by blocking off the outlets and cranking the engine, but as stated, the...

    No Boost

Could be turbo vanes are stuck open. That will cause low boost unless you have a very heavy load on the engine to allow it to spool the turbo with the vanes in the open position. It's a common problem on 6.0 engines, typically caused by carbon buildup, but can also be caused by a failed VGT...

196k all original. WHAT are you doing

I suppose it depends on your definition of "oil breakdown". A GOOD oil, like Shell Rotella 5W-40, will not break down even under extreme conditions for at least 5,000 miles. However, if you run a cheap 15W-40 dino oil, its entirely possible to destroy it in 1,000 miles due to temperatures alone.

Aftermarket injector hold down clamps vs. OEM

If it turns out to be a broken injector hold down, have no fear. There is a TSB for that issue, there was a defect in the original hold downs. The revised part number in the TSB corrects the issue, no need to worry.
