My baby is getting a Detroit Locker installed on Wednesday! No more one-legged-one-wheeled wonder anymore! Now I just hope it isn't too much! Anyone else running a true No-Spin in their trucks? I know it takes some getting used to but it can't be too wild can it?

What you dont like the one tire fire? Haha I'd like to hear what you think about it later on.

Sent from a little green goblin under a bridge.

I run a Detroit Locker in mine. The inside wheel binding action is tolerable. At speed no worries. Put money aside for tires. lol

Awesome, a few of my buddies have been giving me a hard time saying that it's overkill, and their terrible when turning, and that it'll unlock/lock when cruising and cause "death wobble". Whatever, I think they're just jealous.

Why did you say save for tires? Is it THAT much hard on tires or will I BE THAT MUCH HARDER ON THE THROTTLE?? :fordoval:

It's that much harder on tires.

Yup, but it's just straight mean:evil you don't buy a Detroit if your worried about sneakers. I love mine, I'm in snow all the time and can get out of places that demanded 4 wheel drive before pitching stk. LS. Clutches are just straight crap in the Sterling's, especially if you are getting Hp and torque from tuning it.
Here's the thing tho it's a soft locker so if you coast it will unlock. If you are on the throttle it's locked, period. That's why I wanted it, it's dependable.

I run a detroit locker. I like it. Makes some noises sometimes and gotta get used to dragging the inside tire. No death wobble on the highway but if you get out of the throttle and back into it while going around a turn on the highway you can kind of feel the truck turn in more when you let off and then try to understeer a little when you get back on the throttle. Just be careful on slippery highways in turns. You can end up with the ass end in front of you if you aren't careful

Your last line brings up an interesting reoccurring thought for me..There seems to be a mystique that comes along with true posi rears like they are inherently gnarly and dangerous. If one really knows how to drive and ain't scared with white knuckle steering input, (btw not implying that you are at all) in my estimation they [lockers] of whatever make or variant raise the bar on your truck. I go hammer down on highway at 80-90 in rain no issues. The only thing I really needed to re-train my brain for w the aftermarket rear was parking the truck. Yup really, because on inclines with the lash of the locker it will roll about 12"-14" after you throw it in park and let off brakes. Can be a real eye opener the first time you find it out lol.

I meant mostly on snowy/icy roads. In the rain i've never really had it come out on me other than being in the throttle hard, but that is expected with 600-700hp anyways... I agree on it rolling in park. Mine does it too. Seems to have gotten worse over the months but it's not terrible
