Potential Fuel Pressure Issue

Looks like O'Reillys has motorcraft glow plugs. Will hit that up tomorrow and hopefully button her back up. Not holding my breathe though as O'Reillys tends to let me down.

Well, they had Motorcraft ... but only 6. There are a few errands my wife and I are going to run in the next town over, and their O'Reilly's has 8. I will pick another 4 in town, and then hopefully get the other side put back together tonight. I went ahead and got 4 this morning, so I got one side buttoned back up already. Project wasn't too bad. It is a bit of a chore to get the connectors on the GPs though, and I have skinny fingers.

use needle nose pliers on the other side to get the GP's plugged back up. It makes the job a little easier.

Yeah, tried to start them with my fingers and push on with needle nose. I got all back together except the intake and ccv deal on the drivers side vc. The two o-rings on the ccv were trashed too bad to attempt to reuse, so I will get a couple tomorrow or Tuesday and hopefully put the finishing touches on.

I tested the gp's that I took out of the truck and 5 of the 8 wouldn't give me a reading. The other three tested good. I would say between that and almost no fuel pressure, its a wonder it would start when it was 100 degrees out.

Anyone know what the smaller glow plug goes too? I am guessing it must be a 7.3 IDI, because I figure the SD 7.3 has the same glow plug as the OBS.

The shorter plugs are for the IDI's (yes, OBS and SD 7.3 powerstrokes use the same plug). Cheers!

Finally got my ccv o-rings and put it all back together. It seemed to start pretty well, but its hard to tell when its 55 degrees out. I'll fire it up tomorrow morning when its cold and see how it does then. Took a quick trip around the block. The truck seemed to respond a little quicker and idle better with the fuel system.

Truck started pretty well this morning, so I think its good to go again. It was about 24 or so out, and didn't take much cranking.

The top and bottom side, just general pics. I have his pump/filter mount and want to see if I need to do anything specific for my final install, hopefully this week. My mechanical pump is only making 20-25 psi at idle.
