I too am going the analog gauge route. 1, as you said easier to read. 2, I plan to max out factory boost and bp sensors. I'll also have a lift pump pressure gauge as well. What cam are you running to need those reliefs in the piston?
Just a stage 1 cam. Are the reliefs fully necessary, no, but they give me warm fuzzy feelings.
shane what are your plans with the elite dual fueler you aren't going to use now? if your interested in selling it pm me a price. your build is looking awesome
Like Corbin posted. It's for sale and someone needs to buy it.
You can't data log and you can get sensors for the dashdaq that can read higher numbers.

You can get sensors that plug into the factory harness that read higher. Just not sure if the factory computer will accept them correctly. Data logging is important. Analog gauges are just for daily use, don't need to know rail pressure going to Walmart. I know your post was directed at madman not me.

Problem is that with higher lift and more duration, you inherently have less valve to piston clearance. Throw in milled heads, milled block or both its even closer.

Go to the strip, sled pull or do a burnout and break a u-joint, input shaft or something else you end up with an over rev.

Even with better springs and pushrods I have still seen these hit. Mainly on the exhaust valves.

Valve reliefs are good insurance and do not make any bit of difference on anything else. The pistons I have even in full competition trim; standard bore, valve reliefs and straight wall bowl still is 17:1. And for really most climates is totally fine on a common-rail engine.

My question to most is, if you are doing pistons why not add valve reliefs? Unless its a bone stock rebuild with no future plans of ever doing anything performance to it.

Well it started a few months back. Finally got the big turbo mounted in place. Once that was settled I sold the max powers. Here it is mocked up

Then I finally fitted the Midwest forged pistons into the block, here's a pic of them installed.

Couple pics of the turbo mount, it still needs a couple gussets but it's solid, I can stand on it. Yes the valve cover, glo plug harness, and such can come off without removing the bracket. Oil fill neck will be moves back 2" for extra clearance.

Still waiting on my frost plugs and oil gallery plugs, they arrived today. Need to order my hp turbo and materials to fab the mount, up pipes, and piping. Also need to fabricate my whole exhaust too.
I'm out.
