Lot of people don't understand about equal trucks and equal weight. Sure a 6.4 weighing less with the same hp is gonna win all day everyday. But it should. Make them equal it's a different story. They are close to the same power and with proper Trans tuning and 2nd gear start a 6.7 will move good. I don't hate either way. Just stating facts.

#derailftw yeah the 6.4 may be a little quicker but reliability, looks, comfort and luxury all go to the 6.7 trucks. Hate to admit it.

I agree it took me a good solid year before I could even tolerate the 6.7 front end, and done right I still adore the 6.4 body style. I was thinking more so on the interior. It's much nicer imo

UPDATE! found a previously running short block, with pump and injectors. 1500 bucks. Dude cleaning out his shop to move. So plan is to get that, do pistons, cam, Teflon coated bearings, pushrods, tighter springs and slap my already worked over heads on it and call it good. Awesome news, I'll be 5 grand into it instead of 12.

Exactly. So with that being said, next step is a trans, the stock one is really not going to be happy with what I'll be doing to it..... that'll probably be this winter.

Well, i finally got it all blown apart. was a long weekend getting the motor pulled and blown apart. rotating assembly is coming out tonight, but everything else is off. Cam is not bad, but i am playibng it safe and throwing a new one in, same with the lifters. injectors are getting sent out, looks like at least one got hung open, little bit of cylinder wash evidence, but the pistons are still good! My budget is not what i was hoping it would be, so it will get put back together with only what it really needs. pics will be uploaded shortly.

Got a pretty good pile of parts to get shot with a new color as well. Going with illusion malbec from prismatic. Should turn out pretty legit!!

Soooo I pulled the pan and found a few pieces of thrust bearing just chillin.... looks like it kissed a couple piston skirts while it was rattling around down there. Crank walks back and forth pretty good, but it still spins real smooth. We will see the rest tonight

Whats up with those pistons in the second pic ? Looks like there is some major build up or maybe even partially melted, and looks like some debris went though cylinder # 7.

It was just the pic. had my hands in there feeling around, smudged the carbon up a bit.
