There is a guy selling a set of hypermax rods. They are priced to move.

Id do crower or hypermax. The hypermax is supposed to be.stronger than anything else.

Your tuner should be able to tame them lol.

In all seriousness Charles has them.in his built motor and he said they were excellent parts. In a compounded daily with 400/400 it's a pretty good testament to them.

Good deal on them hypermax rods. If they're good enough for those p-pumped engines I'm sure they're tough enough for any heui combination.

Does Charles have a thread on his build?

No. If there was it'd be on powerstrokenumbskulls.com.

He started to explain it once and somebody jumped him because Swamps assembled his longblock and they tried to discredit anything he said because of that. He placed a few typical Charles insults and left. Nothing shared. Too bad.

Commonplace it seems. Someone has a hardon for someone and ruins anything that might be shared.

That blows. His build would definitely be an awesome resource for someone wanting to go the compound route. Do you know if he was running a bed plate (probably not) or a girdle and was his block filled at all?

Why/how would rods affect driveability?

Im assuming it was an innocent question based on not owning a motor with hd rods in it.

Ja cain- he did have something holding the bottom end together but I dont recall. Perhaps there was a bedplate but dont recall anything about his oil pan setup if he did. Its been years since he was very active. Due in part to kids, work, and just plumb not giving a ***k anymore. LOL

when i first started looking into rods i was told to stay away from billet aluminum rods as they are competition use only. i didn't know which brands are made of what so i figured I'd ask. once i get a set in this thing and all rebuilt, it will be time to start adding some real power.

Most all billet rods (crower, carrillo, hypermax, manley) are all billet steel probably have to have custom rods that are aluminum. I run carrillos and have had good luck with them
