Is this a ford 9.75 ?
Or a dana 60 ... or something else?

Looks like I have a slight weep.
Probably get a Lube locker gasket maybe a fancy cover if I can find one affordably.

Lube locker gaskets have worked pretty well on the Jeep.

Just use silicone if it’s the cover leaking. That’s typically what ford called for as a gasket

I'd still like to get some bling covers.
Just because.

Will be more visible now with the 4" lift.

I put these G2 covers on the jeep
They were not too bad pricewise.

Don't mind Henry

He feels the need to be included in every picture.

The front is a Dana 60

Let me ask a stupid question...

Are all Dana60 covers the same?

Such as ford/gm/ dodge
Also are the covers the same front axle or rear axle?

I will be looking for an inexpensive good looking cover for both front and rear.

Haven't had much time to research but I did do a quick search today and summit racing has their own brand which looks pretty cool.

But I'd like to get matching covers

That will probably not work in the front. If you look at stuff like mag hytec and others, the front has a flat spot that starts about 1/4 of the way down the cover, to the bottom of it to clear the steering linkage

All the obs rear ends where 10.25 single or dual rear wheel.

Any 10.25/10.5 rear diff cover will work. Same housing and bolt pattern.

Thanks.

As far as the flat spot on some dana 60's
I think any cover will work
My steering linkage is a good distance away from the cover.
No chance of contact.

When you turn full lock is when its the closest. Have someone turn the wheel all the way both ways and hold it then measure it to see how far away stuff is.

Any suggestion on differential fluid for the 10.50
And front Dana 60?

The rear is 4:10 gear (Limited slip)
I assume I need to run a friction modifier?

Any suggestions appreciated especially stroker Ace

I run full synthetic Valvoline 75w90 gear oil. It is rated GL-4 and has friction modifier in it.

But after saying that it has the friction modifier in it you need to pay attention to what the rear does to see if you might need to add more modifier. I have heard that this is needed with any of the GL-4 or GL-5 oils even if they say that you don't need to do it.

I'd put the same oil in both the front and rear just to avoid confusion.

Any particular reason why you use 75W 90 Instead of the recommended 75W 140?

I was thinking about going with the royal purple 75W-140

They say it doesn't need any friction modifier.
