Legally speaking, you may not be able to get the truck tagged though. Some states flat out prohit you from putting an "older" motor into a "newer" vehicle (for example, a 1999 Cummins into a 2005 truck). And it probably goes without saying that the whole DPF issue could be a huge headache.

Just swap an 08 front clip and interior into a 6.0, much cheaper and faster, don't have to deal with the dpf etc...

Now THAT is interesting, and I completely forgot about those. I'd have to imagine it would be ok to swap to an 08 truck, but not an 09+.

Disregard the DPF for a moment.....in many states that emissions test, you will not pass inspection if you install an older model year motor into a newer moder year vehicle.
