So I did a 4x4 launch tonite with the new setup. I left pretty hard, and the truck felt amazing. It shifted great, and then the 3-4 shift slammed, and what sounded like a loud bang. Now I have no overdrive. The truck drives fine, the torque converter locks, and the tranny shifts fine. It just doesn't go into OD. When it is supposed to be in OD, the tc won't lock.

Any ideas that I can check out on my own?

No, it literally just did it 20 minutes ago. I read something about a valve that can hang open. I just wanted to see the opinions on that. But the loud bang makes me think something hard broke. But Im having trouble figuring out what.

That plus black fluid and random slipping was the end of my trans. Barely made it down to the trans shop at that point.

Drove mine three hours north to BTS with no second gear and no ODLOL

It wasn't pleasant.

LOL

Yeah this was with Twisted's Stage II. I called them today, Rave said to bring it in and it will be fixed under warranty. But Im going back with billet parts this time. It has been abused for the past year, and if it broke this time, it will break again.

good deal.... i was wondering how they would hold up... so you basically have a somewhat sorta built trans and you have abused it well? and it held till now?

Yeah I believe this trans is rated to ~600 hp. It was at ~500 for over a year and a half, and they were hard miles. LOL I'm hoping with this new setup Im closer to 600 now.

And I don't know that anything actually broke yet. We will see when Rave tears it down. It could be something simple. Who knows. But I am probably going back with some billet parts this time.

The truck saw 40 psi at least 5 times a day, for 7 days a week for a year and a half. Probably 30 or more truck pulls, one of which while I was attempting to shift from 2nd to D, I accidently went to neutral. And not thinking clearly, I immediately slammed it back into D with the accelerator to the floor. I also drive with a tc lock up switch just about every stop and go. So it shifted with the tc locked up most of the time. It has seen probably 30 or so passes on the track as well.

And I'm hoping to go back with billet parts this time Dom. Not sure exactly what yet, as we will have to see about cost. Being a college kid sucks. Big time.
