Im relatively new to all the diy mods out there and have performed a few on my 01 250. Ive done the fpr mod, pulled the plunger out of the fuel filter guide, drilled the head plugs, modded the tps, cold air intake, and have just performed the icp mod. Here lies my question. Ive readed dozens of posts on the famed 10k mod....and a 5.9k mod and so forth and so on. All of the low resistance mods tend to lend toward idling problems and transmission slip and cel indicators and such. But there was a branch i read titled "forget the 10k mod go with 22k". After examining the logic of this offshoot it made more sense to me. Further testing showed that a resistance of around 15k performed the best. I first installed a 10k resistor and was very pleased with it, so i snatched it out and threw a 15k in the icp and it blew me away. A ts 140hp on my obs didnt perform this well! Why would someone gi with low resistance and a ton of issues when the 15k mod doesnt affect my shift points, my idling, and my throttle response as far as a delay as mentioned in the low res. mods? Best 50 cents ive ever spent and my truck hauls a** withouth spending a whole dollar on any of my mods combined. Id love to hear any feedback on this!
