The washing part is part of the problem. Its hard not to end up with waterspots after washing in my area. Alot of limestone in the water, even at good carwashes.

So aside from brands. What steps would you do prior to sealant?

Look into Krown Coating. I wish I would have done it. I actually did an undercoating similar to zeibart that LineX offered when I was getting my bed done. It seems okay, and it didn't have overspray everywhere like previous vehicles I've had done at zeibart.

Well, I mean, most claybars, you use a quick detail spray, etc. with, that doesn't leave a thin film on there?

So a question for you guys big into the detailing here. I ordered some Chemical Guys Jetseal. I'm wondering what the proper prep before applying it is. My truck only has about 800 miles on it. I need to claybar it? If so, will using a detailer, etc with the claybar leave a layer that won't...

I'd have to do a bit more research, but I didnt' think the older 5.4s had as much trouble with the cam phasers at the maybe 04-07ish ones. I do know they are famous for spitting the plugs out though.

I've got a weird spot above the wheel well on my bed, looks like something under the paint, but the paint also seems super soft. Mine only has 400 miles on it, drove it over the weekend and noticed a big scratch. Rock hit the rocker and slid up the side and left a 4-6" scratch. I got it...

My friend that runs a dealership said in April sometime is when the new rebate plans will come out. But he also told me that about January and they didn't come off the 1k rebate.

I love the truck, I've had it 6 years, and its never let me down, I've probably hauled 20 cord of wood in it or behind it in my dump trailer, its been an awesome beater, but its leaking so bad, sometimes when the exhaust gets hot it smokes pretty bad, lol. They are great for what they are.
