    04 ex w/low hpop pressure

I still think that the parts themselves are to blame for a bunch of the failures (and especially when aftermarket parts are used). That said, no doubt in my mind that some people are not taking proper precautions on the installation. I would like to think that everyone in the business of...

    04 ex w/low hpop pressure

Thanks! Lots of middle o-ring failures on standpipes. It is my opinion that Ford went to a different supplier - just like they have done on the oil coolers (China based for cost savings). I have the earliest version of Ford's upgraded standpipes on my 2006 (updated them in 2010 or so. They...

    04 ex w/low hpop pressure

There are 3 versions of the branch tubes: 03 for the round aluminum HPOP and log style rails. 05 (and up) for the cast iron HPOP and wavy style rails. Late '04 for the round aluminum HPOP and the wavy style rails. You would want the last one on the list. Part number: 4C3Z-9J332-AA...

Cutting out at high rpms is often times a sticking IPR valve.

    I’m lost…

P0148: Fuel Delivery Error: Power Monitor Activated. actual RPM's exceed requested RPM's (by the PCM) which can be caused by an alternative fuel source, CKP or CMP interference (electrical) or a faulty PCM. In other words, something is making your engine run faster than the PCM wants it to...

2006 icp p2285 issue long crank

A recent thread on a RCD "thumper" HPOP ('05+). 7 yrs old, 90k miles on it. The OP stated his original one lasted 11 years. Mine is still going at 16 years in service, along with the original injectors, most of that being tuned...

    04 ex w/low hpop pressure

It is unfortunate that the Excursions were used as the "outlet" for the excess engines from the previous year! As the vehicle owner, it is important for you to know if you have an 04 engine or an 05 engine. The way to tell is the HPOP and the HPOP cover as described above! Take a picture and...

    2004 no start, no sync

There are TWO Syncs. ScangaugeII will retrieve BOTH PIDs (FICM Sync is separate from Cam/Crank Sync). If you need the programming for either one of those on the ScangaugeII, I can post it. Are you not getting EITHER of those to Sync, or is it only one of them that you are missing? Some...

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

PCM's aren't usually the problem. Failed PCM's are identified typically by eliminating all other possibilities! Glad you have it running.

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

These wires really don't carry much current when running since it is all magnetically driven (ie no power fed to them), but a load test on the wire might reveal a weak spot. The thing is that these sensors need a shielded signal and a load test won't identify anything there.

6.0 Fuel pressure question causing no start?

Just an fyi: TROUBLESHOOTING CKP: first check for a broken o-ring causing an oil leak into the electrical connector. To check the sensor: You can check the dark blue wire (pin 30) and orange wire (pin 41) at the PCM center connector (C1381c). Using a multimeter that reads hertz check across...
