    BPD water pump

It is best to stay with authentic Motorctaft sensors and actuators. Almost all the other stuff, and there are probably some decent (some excellent) aftermarket choices. Another example - I think that the Motorcraft remanned injectors are good also, but when I finally need new injectors (I am...

    BPD water pump

I hate to be this way, but it just seems like there is a lot of cost cutting going on at all levels. Getting parts from these parts suppliers is probably fine in many cases, but then there are probably some that aren't actually supplying true OEM parts. I talk to two local dealership parts...

    BPD water pump

Was that water pump purchased from a dealership? In all the forums that I am on, I do not see many issues w/ OEM water pumps. That said, there is no doubt that Ford is wanting to cut some costs on parts for the (old/outdated) 6.0L platform. We have seen quality slipping on numerous parts...

    6.0 oil questions

If oil "runs like water" it may very well have substantial fuel dilution ............. Also it need to be understood that in each oil change, as much as 20% of the old oil remains in the engine. That can be noticeable on the analysis. Schaeffer 9000 5W40 in my 2006 6.0L (it was a long time...

    6.0 oil questions

You will be happy enough with the Schaeffer 9000. I am betting that you too will see elevated lead (Pb) numbers. Multiple examples of it happening. That said, I do not know if it is an issue or not. Some people "guessed" that it came from the oil cooler, but who knows. I am betting that in...

    6.0 oil questions

I know a lot of people would worry less about oil in the 6.0L if the engine didn't occasionally trash lifters. On the other hand, I don't think lifter failure can exactly be attributed to an oil grade choice! My bet is that elevated temperatures play a role.

    6.0 oil questions

5W40 oil doesn't actually shear to a 30 weight all that quick. It will take around 5000 miles for some oils, and others can go to almost 7500 miles. I have taken a lot of data on this with various oils. Schaeffer 5W40 shears the slowest that I have seen, but it elevated the lead number in my...

    06 ebp normal readings

The ScanGauge will read MAP sensor numbers. Boost is just MAP minus Baro (barometric pressure).

I think those are pretty good numbers.

    06 ebp normal readings

EBP_Des is another important PID, but I do not know the x=gauge programming for it. It may also be called EP DSD in a scan tool. It is the "desired" EBP pressure (what the PCM wants to see). Comparing it to the actual EBP seen by the PCM can sometimes be helpful. You might do some searching...

    06 ebp normal readings

Just remember: EBP_a is absolute pressure (that has the barometric pressure added in, or in other words it is in reference to absolute zero pressure or total vacuum). EBP_g is gauge pressure. That pressure is in reference to atmospheric pressure, so it will read zero at atmospheric pressure...
