With aftermarket tuning, the exhaust brake is a beast. I couldnt live without it while driving in switchbacks and vastly changing elevations in mountainous terrains. Big difference in just downshifting vs. Downshifting with exhaust back pressure.
Words of wisdom!
Nothing wrong with a little modifications. But for those that need top notch reliability it's best to keep it in the FoMoCo realm of mods. Upgrade to a 15+ turbo, pump, and tuning. Be done!
For what you are wanting a "15 style vgt" will be your best option. I would be very lost without my factory Exhaust break. Especially in switchbacks and mountain driving.
Midwest sells a new style 15 turbo that supposedly spools faster than a stock, and you keep your EB.

Looks like it came from Sherwood Construction! Only outfit I know of in that area that has or used to have solid orange trucks! If so they take pretty good care of their trucks. Wouldn't scare me!!
I hate they dubbed it "tesla".... its far from a real tesla interface module. The one mentioned takes anywhere between 90 and 120 seconds to boot up.
The f150 guys have been doing it. Ive seen many complaints. But some guys love it also.....
I would wait a few minutes! The concept is...
Manually shifting will net results you can't pay for.
Drop down to as much as 4th gear manually.
For those of you running 40" tires. You need to regear if you haven't already.
I would like to think a like footed driver would not experience any issues. I'm one also. But occasionally do use all the throttle. However it's at higher rpm. For that reason I run a higher shift point tune. "Raised shift point"
I saw one 16 model that was a grandpa truck. Guy had local...
Call Midwest and ask how many engines they have built due to crank gear. I've seen more on Facebook than I can even begin to count.
Fwiw.... It's not just 15-16 trucks. Plenty of them with big turbo and fuel to support.
15-16 just got them because they could put out more than a 11-14 tune only.
That would be great if I had rear coils.... lean is from the rear. Level rear and front is dead on.
But I hear you.... I would if the the spacer itself didn't bother my oCd of a factory geometry of all front end links! Lol.
If I do anything to the front I would do adjustable 3 link with...
Yeah. Both mine lean. 11 and 15. Leaners. It is embarrassing. And they both did with 26 gallon tanks.
That is why I did not run a equalizer line between the air bags. 2 separate lines going to the dual needle gauge and controller. It's more of a pain to have divorced bags but I like the...
