Tuning the 7.3 in current times

Sure the Swamps CR7.3 sounded good, but it didn't last long in competition. 1 year I think before the only running one changed directions I think.... Yes - use the Duramax computer. It also used many off the shelf Duramax parts, valves, springs, rocker bridges, etc... front cover is designed...

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

The 32 valve head I have designed works with LBZ style Duramax injectors, but it could work with mechanical injection as well. Getting 1 off custom castings done these days isn't anywhere near as expensive as it once was. We 3D print directly into sand now and make the molds directly for about...

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

Pretty sure when the 7.3 in my shop right now is complete - that will be my last 7.3 project - unless I can find a way to fund it differently. I have discussed with a couple of people about the idea of just open sourcing all of it - the new injectors - the 32 valve head design - the new front...

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

It was ALL of the ICP. lol Less than the design target, but more than being run today in trucks. The nice thing was with the heavy poppet spring it made it really controllable - the base ICP had to be jacked up ALOT with the stock solenoid to even get the injectors to fire, and that allowed...

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

You're missing the point. With a fast enough injection event you don't run up into the duty cycle of the IDM. Make the injection even short enough and its a non-issue.

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

I'd have to go back and look at my notes. I believe those were 400% tips and not the big custom drilled tips that we had for a while.... just not enough meat between the holes and they kept cracking - there is an off the shelf solution for that too, but it wasn't pursued - it really needs to be...

Tuning the 7.3 in current times

Not really - the parts are all complete with the exception of my custom solenoids. Going from memory we were at 430cc of fuel in 2.5ms on the bench I think...... or something close to that.

The Official PSA Duramax gets Built Ford Tough!

 I miss this truck. Sold it. New owner sold it. That new owner blew it up, stripped the cab off, and last I heard had big dreams of stretching the frame and installing a 6 door square body chevy truck body onto the chassis.

Wow. I didn't realize it had been that long since I logged on...... I learned about the sale through Facebook today..... it would have been nice to at least let the old mods know.... but at the same time..... it looks like I haven't been on since late 2021..... A whole lot of nostalgia and a...

    Dual remote IPR's

Yes it would require removal of the stock fuel bowl. Returning oil to the pan vs the reservoir..... there are issues on both sides of that fence..... I always returned to the pan. Do as you wish. Picture the Dieselsite part and the dual IPR block integrated into one piece and the dumps for...

    Dual remote IPR's

Somewhere I made a CAD file that turned this block into a reservoir spacer and conveniently dumped the oil down the gears in the front cover. I never made a physical part in that rendition though. I'm not even 100% sure I finished the entire model.
