Most if not all of the injectors have about .001" clearance. .0015 is either real tight or won't go at all. Also it seems one side of the armature has more clearance than the other on some. If I understand correctly this is from wear on the poppet and seat. What are they machining to reagain the...
I have plenty of icp but have not checked the injectors with a feeler gauge. I will try to do that this weekend. Thanks. I'm still stuck on the idea it had to be running before when the previous owner rolled it. But I dont know how long it sat before I bought it.
I haven't had time to mess with the truck in a few weeks but I have a question. The pipes on both sides of the turbo are still off. Will it start like that? I left them off in case I had to pull the valve covers again.
Didnt do any measuring. Just cleaned them and just got them back in. It started and ran a few seconds (like crap) and died. Started back up and did the same. Batteries are dead now I'll try again in the morning. That is the first time however it's started without ether.
I took two injectors apart last night and cleaned the tips out, reinstalled them and they buzzed louder. I am going to pull the rest and clean them and see if it starts then.
It was p1293 high side open right bank. I swapped out the IDM and cleared the code but still does not start. Th eonly cylinder that buzzes different is #4 which is louder than the rest. I can't even get it to start with ether now. I have plenty of white smoke while cranking and 2300 psi oil.
I did a buzz test but didnt really know what to listen for. Injector #4 was louder than the rest. It showed a new code (P0340) so I replaced the CPS. It acts like it wants to start but still no dice. The only code now is P0470 exhaust back pressure. It had a high pressure of 2300 on the ICP. I...
Would low rpms cause the ICP pressure to be so hi while cranking? And if I'm getting smoke the injectors have to be working wouldn't they? The truck ran until it was rolled so I am trying to think of what could have happened during the rollover. Thanks.
