    Captian Murica Build

So the tires alone took over a 10th off, both with converter issues. You'll get 10s in no time!

    Madmans build thread

John, I was planning on the event in NJ this weekend. A small event in NH July 11th. The easy coast nationals at Numidia. A small local event to me. And Rudys. Those are events that I knew of, and am definitely up for going to more. At least this weekend is ruined, and now the July events are...

    Madmans build thread

Just an update. Was out last evening. Got on it a little bit, under pretty good load I hit a small heave in the road from the ice over the winter. Heard a snap, truck acted as if it was in neutral. The bump in the road wasn't anything crazy, just enough to give it a shock under load. No crazy...

At what point would a guy want billet connecting rods

Taking the entire engine apart just to do pistons isn't a simple task. To do it properly it all still needs to be balanced and what not. Why go through all of that trouble if you're not going to replace the biggest limiting factor to reliablility under power. I don't necessarily think pistons...

At what point would a guy want billet connecting rods

Dmax is a way different scenario then our trucks. And he hasn't mentioned anything about making it a race or pulling application. Honestly. Why would you go as far as doing pistons and not replace the rods. Its a waste of time and money, especially if you have to go back in and do it all over...

At what point would a guy want billet connecting rods

I think that is the biggest thing..... He says stock fuel, but for how long. Are you the kind of person that is content with slightly bigger turbos and stock fuel, or are you the kind of person who will eventually go all out, like Stewart just mentioned.

    lowered truck height

Not that I've seen with 4800lb springs and the rear block removed.

    lowered truck height

It's an F250, but yes it's the stock rear springs. I think the biggest difference besides the block height is there is no overload.

    lowered truck height

4800 lb springs, no block, in both pictures. The pavement is sloped slightly downward toward the grass in that picture, which makes it look funny. I have other side pictures of the truck in the spot but it makes it look like the back end sits low, which it doesn't.

At what point would a guy want billet connecting rods

I think the number of people who have had that happen is far far out numbered by the people who make more than stock turbo/fuel power with no issues. There are flaws with everything. Stock motors even throw rods, it can happen to any make/model engine. But realistically, for the power he is...

At what point would a guy want billet connecting rods

Not with that set up. And especially not a concern really with stock fuel. Plenty of people with big power running stock rods. Not saying it's ideal, but it can be done. I've got over 10k miles on my build with stock rods. Its not like you can't do it down the road if you get into building...

    triple compound wastegate setup?

Honestly the gate to bypass the 80mm will only be neeeded if boost or back pressure still gets out of control after bypassing the factory compounds. With the correct ar like a 1.32 you may not even need a gate on it. My 88mm with a 1.23 ar does not need to be bypassed, even though we put a gate...

    lowered truck height

My 4800 and no block sits almost perfectly level. A 5200 will sit a little high in the front.

    triple compound wastegate setup?

Yea, I don't doubt that one bit. That Nathan kid on fb has a 100lb boost and back pressure gauge pegged supposedly. He's got big fuel, but that's just too much. An 80mm should be able to flow almost, if not all of the exhaust this engine can produce with a correctly sized ar. I'd definitely...

Yea you'll sit high in the front with stock springs.

Many people don't like to reuse Ubolts. Go to a local spring shop they probably have what you need readily available

    triple compound wastegate setup?

Dump the gate into the pipe going to the atmosphere. With the potential for wicked high back pressure it'd be nice to have a gate on each up pipe.
