7.3 Knock with video
Everything under the valve covers look good and the knock is still there with the belt off. I just don't want to wipe a motor out that can be fixed so it will probably come out and get a rebuild just for pice of mind -

I will see if I can get a better video of it today. The guy I got it from had rebuilt the motor and when he put it back together it was knocking so he just sold it. I am starting to wonder if he put the rings on the pistons right LOL. he said that the inspected the bearings and they looked good... -

Any ideas? I took the valve covers off and everything looks good under them so I am assuming it is a lower end knock. Just want to get more opinions than just mine LOL -

You have a forged rod 7.3L. Would need a good motor minus injectors and turbo.- vcassens

super duty picture thread:
Picked this up today for 7500 bucks with a knock in the motor. 02 F450 2wd lariat. The interior is spotless and the bed is brand new and has all new injectors, adrenaline hpop,and turbo. Not sure what the knock is yet but hopefully will know soon. The il 250 did pretty well hauling it home to- vcassens

What Do You Tow?
Kinda a crappy pic but i towed an 02 cclb 2wd F450 lariat today. picked it up for 7500 bucks with a knock in the motor and it only has 129xxx miles on it -
wtb 7.3 motor
I may have the motor out of my 96 for sale soon. There is nothing wrong with it and it was running good i just had a small fire under the dash. The motor could use some glow plugs but other than that it is a good motor. Had 213k on it. Let me know if you are interested in it. I am located about...- vcassens

What should I offer?
Well i ended up with 7,100 after my deductible and the buy back. The buy back was 960 and 100 for the deductible. I think that was a fair deal. I am going to look at another 96 this week but it is a 2wd cclb dually with 170k on it. The truck runs and drives but has bad ball joints and he says...- vcassens
