Anyone personally tuning their 6 liter?

In your case I would do so. Then load a combo of ECM/FICM tuning to your need.

    **NEW** Power Hungry Insight PRO

What is stopping your FICM tunes from being able to flashed from the Insight Pro? As long as the file is being purchased through PHP there's really no difference from the dealer FICM tuner I have right now other than ease of distribution to the end user. And if we have that, why not license...

    MIDWEST DIESEL DUEL FUELER REVIEW

The one I did for a customer I had to loosen all the bolts up and pry the pump forward and towards the passenger side to get the belt to stay in the grooves. Doesn't look like much but it was enough.

Anyone personally tuning their 6 liter?

Based on your other thread you have the wrong file in your FICM. '03, for whatever reason, is super picky about matching FICM/PCM/TCM files. For example, say your FICM has an 04 file and the PCM/TCM is an 03 file, they will slam gears, limp mode, not shift passed a certain gear, etc.

    SCT Tuners, come on in...

The hardware of the FICM doesn't matter. As long as it's got a compatible file in it they will work.

    SCT Tuners, come on in...

If you have the mismatch code you need to have the truck reflashed with an IDS. They will do some weird stuff when the software is different. To do it correctly, you need to find your tear tag sticker on the PCM. When the IDS auto identifies, the tech needs to select "NO" when it asks if that...

    SCT Tuners, come on in...

05-07 use a different PCM with a different processor then 03/04. With the PHP FICM tuners, there is one base file used for 05-07 and then two others for 03 and 04. 03/04 has a split based on EBP use and will throw a code for software mismatch if they are not flashed with a matching PCM/FICM...

If you've had a 6.4 crack pistons please read

I have an supposedly stock VP 24 Valve apart right now that has a spray pattern worse than any common rail I've seen. It blew up from a Fram oil filter that came apart and the guy ran it until it stopped. The IH coat pistons should hold up fine. I don't understand why the one shop coated a set...

Sounds like the reman motors are recycling pistons.

Has anyone done the 7.3 fan clutch adaptor to the 6.0

Healthy stock fan clutch should keep up with a/c just fine. If you have an sct you can have the fan clutch on Temps adjusted in a custom tune. I usually have them set at 215.

    Shop owners Bulletproof warranty?

I can tell you exactly what happened. You had cracked heads. Before they ever did the gaskets. There's no way they did anymore that brake clean and sand the bottom of the heads in the time frame you've given. That's the whole point of the degas bottle anyway, to get the fluid level above any...

Anyone personally tuning their 6 liter?

On its own, it's okay. You mix it with a custom tune and weird things start to happen. I fought with this on my '03 before giving up, doing a stock reflash on everything and loading my tune from Matt. Hp tuners has talked about adding FICM flashing to their software.

    Shop owners Bulletproof warranty?

I'll add to this: If you paid under $6000 it wasn't even close to doing headgaskets on a 6.0 correctly. At least half of the trucks we get in for headgaskets have cracked heads. The bill now jumps to 8K. If the heads are okay, it still costs about $1000 to have them gone through correctly. At...

NEED HELP, ADD DUAL FUEL NOW NO START?!

I would guess at this point the Mini didn't load the tune correctly for whatever reason. Truck noticed a lack of emissions equipment, they probably got it to crank once but had air the in the system. Now it's in no crank. My advice, flash the truck stock with the mini. Then reflash all modules...

    6.4 head options

It's pretty sad what passes for acceptable and will work long enough to get it out of warranty. There have been plenty of trucks I take apart and I'm amazed it was running like that, but they do. There's a lot more give in valve train parts that are only moving at a max of 1600 rpm vs. a small...

    6.4 head options

Last set of 6.0 heads I got from Ford took 3 sets to get two good ones. Both ended up being bare metal, no paint. One painted one it looked like the mill started jumping, half the head had 1/8th inch dips in it. 2 others were .006 warped and the guides were junk.
