Studded tune on non studded trucks

I think his process for getting trucks to hold up to endless abuse in a work environment is pretty good. His idea of 6.0 go fast and ours are a bit different. That said, I'll give my theory on 6.0s: The gasket is the failure point but not the cause. These heads aren't flat from the factory...

Studded tune on non studded trucks

Congrats, you watched a Powerstrokehelp video and now you're an expert 6.0 mechanic. The stock caps are junk, everyone knows this. And because they're junk they will allow coolant to blow out under 16 psi, new cap won't. But if the headgaskets/egr cooler are smoked it's not going to matter.

Studded tune on non studded trucks

I've dyno'd 527 to the tires on stock bolts and never blew the gaskets after a year of abuse.

Adding extra friction and steel to direct clutch

The suncoast kit runs a thinner pressure plate. The problem is that there's so much force on the clutch pack it will actually bend the pressure plate and then smoke the clutches again.

Adding extra friction and steel to direct clutch

You need to contact Warren Diesel Transmission for one of his Direct Drums. They are custom machined to accept a higher clutch count with a correct thickness pressure plate.

Why not buy extra pcm when ******** under warranty?

You have a **** dealer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson%E2%80%93Moss_Warranty_Act That right there is what dealers and OE are required to go by. They have to be able to prove whatever modification is done to the vehicle is what caused the part failure in order to deny warranty...

Why not buy extra pcm when ******** under warranty?

You would need an IDS to do it. Which if you have an IDS it doesn't really matter what PCM you start with if you hit the right buttons.

how common is lifter failure .. actually

As for push rods, if the heads are machined right I don't think it really matters. The ones we take apart that are failed always seem to have a valve guide problem on the cylinder that failed.

how common is lifter failure .. actually

If they deny lifter replacement with me, they get sent to the local flat bill shop. California has some messed up laws and interpretations of those laws when it comes to auto repair. They look at it no differently than a vehicle that needs a brake repair but the customer refuses to do it and...

how common is lifter failure .. actually

I think general agreement is to change lifters when the heads are off. Proper machining of the heads and valves helps too.
