Warming up help for fire response!

I've never had to cold start my 6.0 for a fire call, but I did with my 95 7.3 quite a bit. Basically if it's above freezing I don't worry about it and drive the 5 miles to the station. (Sometimes running pretty hard) If it's below freezing, I either take the wife's car or have the truck plugged...

Front brakes stick after hard acceleration??

I don't know my way around the super duty fords too well, but I had a 98 blazer that I had to lube the caliper pins every 10k or so or else the brakes would start to stick. Might be worth looking in to.

Powder coat steel or aluminum flatbed

Have two trucks with steel flatbeds on them. I replaced the original flatbed on my 97 dually with a new Bradford and love the bed. Heavy built, ball built in, rear hitch already there- everything I wanted. I picked up the bed for my 95 used. Personally wouldn't have an Aluminum bed for a farm...

    Truck wont move.

Is there resistance on the shifter like normal? If not make sure the tube at the base of the column is moving the cable. There is 2 bolts that like to come loose.

    Auto hub Issue

I need to do some more testing in the morning as I got called away on a fire call this afternoon and didn't get to finish. Really think I have a leak in the vacuum reservoir - don't know if that often happens or not.

    Auto hub Issue

^^ Was thinking the exact same thing after I posted this afternoon, so I borrowed a vac pump/gauge from a friend and pulled a vacuum on each hub. Both hubs hold 15in for more than 5 min. I did some more testing and all vacuum seems to be lost in the black box behind the pass side battery. What...

    Auto hub Issue

Got a new to me 2007 F250 a couple weeks ago. Through trial and error I found that my 4wd was not working when my hubs were in auto. When I lock them in "lock" the 4wd works fine. I hooked in a vac gauge after the solenoid and it goes up to 12in and holds for about 30 seconds until something...

    uppipes and manifold

I know it is a little pricy, but I put the Irate bellowed uppipes in my 97. For as much of a PIA that the job was, I'm glad I spent the money and went that way. I used Dorman manifolds from NAPA and have no complaints with them. Used new OEM bolts. I think the manifolds were about $150 and the...

    E40D Issues

I actually ended up doing that later this afternoon and there was no code. Ended up selling the truck tonight.

    E40D Issues

I have my 95 F250 up for sale and have an issue with the o/d light flashing once in awhile when I drive it. The truck shifts good until the light blinks. Put my reader on it and got "P1711 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Out of Self-Test Range" as the only code. Now what do I do?

    Steering column interchange

Hopefully someone will chime in that knows more, but I think it is plug and play. I'm pretty sure that those bearing are replicable though. The column isn't too bad to take apart, but I've never done one with an airbag though.

    OBS seats.

Pretty sure nothing is a direct bolt in. I've seen several pics of different seats put in an obs, but all were custom made to fit. It's really not that hard to make them fit. The main thing is that you have to make sure you have enough room. I am 5'11" and there isn't a lot of room in the cab...

    OBS seats.

Pretty sure if you have a 40/20/40 bench you can replace it with a 40/20/40 bench out of a 89. I do know that the slides are different, but I think they bolt up the same. Maybe someone else will chime in and confirm this.

Another Fuel in the Valley thread

I'm not going to do e-fuel on this truck. This one was a truck I got from a friend and will most likely be getting rid of it in the near future. I'm still on the fence on replacing the pump. Right now I think I will pull the fuel bowl and see what those lines look like. If they look pretty bad...

Another Fuel in the Valley thread

I did a bunch of searching without out many answers to my question.... Truck has 193k on it and everything is original to my knowledge. The truck has a massive leak in the valley and I plan to tear out the bowl and rebuild it. I also plan the put new rubber hoses on. While I have everything...
