Good all around shop welder suggestions

I have a MM 210 and it has been great, however; if I had it to do again, I think I would have gotten a suitcase welder, maybe a 180, so I could be a little more portable. I don't regret the 210 though.

What is the Best way to prep the 6.0 DECK?

I subbed this for more info, but I am particularly interested in Snake's approach with the stone. Snake, would you mind elaborating on the use of the stone? How many passes? When do you quit? What is "don't go crazy with it?" This is the only part of my build if/when I do it, that makes me a...

    Starting a "budget" build

PM sent Matt. Thanks for the info guys! Got lots to mull over. Any way you slice it, the wife is going to have a cow, lol, although she is getting used to the brown truck bringing parts. When I say that I come off the scales weighing 20 - 22K, that is gross and sometimes the loader operator...

    Starting a "budget" build

Thanks for helping me spend my money guys! This is good. It's got my cogs turning. What I'd really like is a "tweener" Something between towing and performance but I sometimes come off the scales at 21k - 22k and have an 8 percent grade to pull afterwards. This doesn't happen often though...

    Starting a "budget" build

OK, I know that's an oxymoron but you get the drift. It's the '07 in my sig. She is almost touching 99k on the ticker and...knock on wood, she hasn't had anything major go wrong. I should leave well enough alone. I have retired the girl from DD to Sunday goin' to meetin' and towing. I have a...
