I have it going to a local guy here that will repair it for little to nothing. Supposedly the brain is what causes the audio to just go out. It is a common problem. The cable has been replaced.
I don't know anyway to test it. I know its not the connections cause i hooked up another head unit and all the speakers work great. The only reason I am putting this one in the truck is because my buddy needed some money and I have been wanting a player like this for a while. $30 is better...
I used crimp connectors on the power and solder on the audio connections. There is two parts to this unit. The flip up head unit and the remote located brain. so far what i have found out this is a common problem and the brain has gone bad. supposedly I can send it off and get it fixed for 125.
I just installed a Clarion vrx925vd and it played just fine for a few minutes then no sound. Rechecked all the wiring and made sure it is all correct. Hit reset button and it worked for a second and then quit again. Any suggestions?
Buddy of mine has a turbo off his 2004 F-250. Upgraded his so he needs to sell this one. Nothing wrong with it. Has 75000 miles on it. Asking $250 plus shipping for it. If you are interested please give me a call on my cell at (803)315-4659. Call or text. I do not have pics but can get them.
Well shoot. I was hoping for one last pull this year. We had the last local pull of the year here in Pelion. Nothing personal on the trailer joke. I know all to well about breaking stuff pulling. I am on my 3rd transmission and 6th carrier bearing.
Thanks for posting some pics. Hopefully ol boy had a buddy with a trailer there. It looks like Diesels in Dark Corners is Nov 13th. I wont be able to make it with my wife due any minute around then.
I wanted to go but had to work instead. I have been every year but have to make the money. Did get to go to the tractor pull in Pelion though. Does anyone have any pics or vids to post? Also when is the Diesels in Dark Corners event at Liberty?
Can't be any harder than swapping in a 6.7L Cummins into a SD. Make sure you get all the wires from the motor to the tail lights though. If not it will be a spark chasing nightmare. Intercooler will be fun to.
Ask about the oil change intervals and if they have service records. Look at the oil filter itself and see how dirty it is. Also check out the water pump. They tend to go out when you don't want them to.
The whole reason I want to go with the dip kit is because the stickers or film that comes in the kits fades when subjected to sunlight for prolonged periods of time. I want somethin I don't have to keep replacing. Plus the stickers cost more than the dip kit.
I plan on doin the window switch trim front and back and my dark tan plastic around the radio and dash. I might do the over head consol with the digital temp and the faux wood trim pieces. From what I figured I have approximately around 11sqft to cover and the kit comes with enough to cover...
