    Yep. I believe thats the fix. I need to know what the measurement should be so I can cut and weld the tube.

    30 mm.. (1 inch is 25.4mm) so the clearance between the manifold and steering rod is a little over an inch

    .120 was with the pan sitting on the block. Not bolted down. Im at a loss as to where Im going to get any adjustment on the tube. Its bolted both ends.

    there is about 1/2 inch clearance from the pick up to the bottom of the pan. BUT, there is only 1/8 of an inch between the oil pan drain bolt and the pick up tube. Man thats close.

    Was about to put my oil pan on when I noticed how close the pick up tube is to the bottom of the pan. You can see it through the oil drain hole. The tube is bolted in place and there is no adjustment .

    I think Im going to give it a miss. There are plenty of big HP trucks your end with OEM manifolds. The money will be spent else where.

    I have emailed David several times (with pics) and another guy who had something to do with them. No response, which led me to believe that its a no go.

    lol Might be the same problem with the fit, like the DI headers. We have the steering column on the right hand side that runs real close to the OEM manifold. yep, thats the thing. I would save some coin by doing it now. Alot easier to make while the engine is out And although they do sound...

    Im at the stage now where Im ready to pull my engine for the swap. Now , I have spent way more on this engine build than I anticipated and headers are going to cost me around 2K over here. I was going to take my truck down to the shop with the new engine in the back to get the headers made up...

    The frame I made is only while Im working on the engine in da cave. I realise that the lift points are there for a reason. Just didnt want to use em straight after torque'n the heads. I will let it sit for a coupla days then re torque and then I will use the lifting points. Thanks for the concern:)

    Took the words out of me mouth. Its Saturday arvo just got home from work and Im about to do just that. I have some 50mm square hollow that Im going to weld up and use the engine mount holes .

    Got home from work and chocked it up with some timber and a jack. Now its stable I can torque down the head studs. Gotta say , Im not to keen lifting it off with the eyelets on new gaskets and freshly torqued head studs.

    made some progress over the long weekend. the only thing that concerns me at this point is the bloody engine stand. its rated to 2000lbs but man its struggling with whats on it now. How heavy are these engines fully assembled ??
