Turbo upgrade diy?
I have on other vehicles that have a specific turbine inlet flange and a decent turbine wheel already. It was nothing more than a good rebuild ($300-500 depending where you go and the quality of the balance), plus the cost of wheel, machine time for the compressor housing and/or backing plate...- f350guy

Can I tow with SCT performance tune?
Find a used Edge Insight CS, they are starting to become really inexpensive as people move on to the next, greatest monitor. I paid around $150 delivered for mine I think. You would be insane to drive around without one on a tuned truck. The canned SCT tunes were terrible. Smoky, shifted...- f350guy

bad squeal
You had an idler or tensioner pulley fail. Been there, done that... around 65k I think, I will check my records if you care. Now I replace this stuff every 50k, belts included. Buy two Ford tensioners, aftermarket are all full of Chinese crap bearings. Same goes for the idlers. I picked... -

So to drop pistons in a standard bore block, I assume it will need to visit a machine shop to hone the cylinders at least or are you guys talking about doing it in frame? Would it just make more sense to buy a short block then? My bottom end is fine, been ******d since 9000 miles, and I am...- f350guy

MAJOR HELP needed. Transfer case issues
How does the tech know the swapped in switch was functioning correctly? Were the motors new, used, reman? Does the problem still occur with the switch unplugged? How about the t-case motor? Maybe pinout the harness and run some basic continuity testing to see if anything is pinched. I... -

What to look for in buying a used SCT LW 9625OR
I have had that tuner on my truck since about 9000 miles on the odometer back in late '09 or early '10, it works for my needs. I just run a street tune from one of the tuners. If you plan to go balls to the wall, I would suggest one of the other options available. It is an inexpensive way...- f350guy

Where should i go from here??
I have an RCD converter, which I understand was made by Precision Industries to RCD specs. Drives great, truck is drastically transformed. No more blowing through the stock converter, even with mild tunes (the 475-500hp tunes from the tuners out there). I drove on a 500hp rated tune for years...- f350guy

It was mine plan also, but it was destroyed when I let someone (family) drive the truck to do something. Mine was even the factory chrome package one. ha Now I have a Magnaflow exhaust with tip. Anyway, awesome numbers and stealth. Have a great Christmas! :)- f350guy

Mine was dead at 14k. Junked it for a True Trac around 80k ago. I would do a diff before traction bars, but that is just me. -

Dads truck is smoking
Do not forget about being able to push the motor oil further since the regen is gone. I bought my truck new and have had the oil analyzed just about every oil change, even dino Mobil Delvac allowed around 10000 miles for an OCI on normal driving once regen was eliminated That too saves money... -

Finally going to buy a real tuner
Exactly what I did... sub $500 into my SCT unit and Edge CS setup. Shop used, Edge released their CS2 and CTS2 recently so the earlier units are being given away by folks. I agree that the H&S is a superior unit. For my needs, the SCT works just fine.- f350guy

what brand torque converter
I am using a 1600rpm stall from RCD (I read is partly based on a Precision Industries unit), works very well. I do not have a very modified truck, if it matters.
