Let's spitball... 7.3 with shorter stroke?

Reviving an old thread becuase i read it and didnt see anyone mention the increased dwell time and longer "slow down/speed up" period before and after tdc you could gain from destroking the engine and increasing rod length. Wouldnt this help to increase the injection window a little bit across...

    Mechanically Injected 7.3 Trucks Info/Pictures

Gotcha, i work in a machine shop so making the litttle things is no problem for me to do if thats all thats required. So if thats the case then using the A pump should be a reasonable starting point for a fun truck not looking to break any recoards with. Edit: Without touching the A pump and...

    Mechanically Injected 7.3 Trucks Info/Pictures

Did you supply your own pump for the conversipn or did carson supply all the components? Was thinking about it a little and really if i was to use my pump then wanted to upgrade to a sigma(yeah okay keep dreaming) or p7100 later on i think all that would need to be changed is the pump gear and...

    Mechanically Injected 7.3 Trucks Info/Pictures

Oh wow thanks for all that info gwunter. i thought it was an A pump just wasnt 100% sure, sucks its so much different that i would basically need to redesign a kit to fit it, was hoping it would be easier (wouldnt that just be splendid). Probly be cheaper/easier to just buy a hypermax kit or...

    Mechanically Injected 7.3 Trucks Info/Pictures

Read a bunch of the first few pages and went back a couple from the most recent. Ill get through all 40 sooner or later, however im curious if theres more plsces then just hypermax to get parts for this conversion? LOL at building a stronger bottom end just to move your hp up in the rpm range, your trading squish stress for rotational, a balance would be better suited in that scenario depending on how high your spinning it.

parralel twins instead of big single

Your absolutely right, even with the small chargers the price is a big difference, to get an equaly sized precision charger with ball bearing its a 600$ increase in price(I'm using the precision as an example becuase thats what brand charger in looking at using) I'm sure other companies might be...

parralel twins instead of big single

Well guess its true that you should believe half what you see and nothing you hear haha. I stil dont really see a need for ball bearing though considering alot of the big singles people put on to make crazy hp numbers are all journal bearings. Granted yes the bigger turbos dont spin nearly as...

parralel twins instead of big single

Fun truck, take it to the strip when I'm bored, do a couple pulls when Im bored, drive it to work occasionally when I'm bored of driving my daily, go to home depot or lowes to get material, do burnouts, etc etc.

parralel twins instead of big single

Ball bearing would be nice for quick spool, but it shouldn't be nessecary. Journal bearings can handle more abuse (so I've heard). As far as drive pressure, thats similar turbine size to an hy35 and they use the hy35 on 3.9l 4bt's. I know its comparing apples to oranges becuase of so many...

parralel twins instead of big single

After looking into this more and in light of some of the info provided so far here, I might try some pte 5554e turbos. Turbo specs are: Compressor- 55.12/74.93 Turbine- 64.92/53.94 Max comp. Flow- ~790cfm Turbine A/R- .63

I just watched that video earlier today, that engine looks so nice. You did a great job. I'm not gonna ask any details on your setup but I'm assuming that you ment 800cfm not cfs LOL? And I'm also assuming thats 800cfm per turbo haha.

parralel twins instead of big single

Yea I was just making sure we was on the same page haha, but if that's the case then thats a bigger turbine then the 5976 wich is 74.17inducer and 64.5 exducer.
  19. WHITExOBS

parralel twins instead of big single

Is that measuring the overall diameter of the wheel or just the exducer? Thats a fuggin tiny exducer if the inducer is 66mm. I'll try to keep it in mind for when I go to order turbos, sadly blowing the engine in my daily killed all my play money for this month and probly next month so the...

What's the turbine size on that? I never heard of it and its not listed in precisions catalog. I should state my truck will have either 250/200 or 300/200's, I'm not doing this to a stock fueled engine.
