The wife brought me home a little something for the F250 for Christmas. I'm starting to get in the Holiday mood (this is an aftermarket part right!? :) )
I had one on my jeep and thought about one for the 6.7. Like you said, run it out and put the end around a tree or something. You can spray it or use some grease and work it into the cable. Check it often in the winter and you will be ok.

To the OP, H&S has a new kit that is easier and cheaper (around $37) and it just involves 2 plates. It's nice and an easy install.
If running DPF on, it will monitor the stock pyros. If you take the DPF off, you can use a probe out of the DPF pipe and put it in an EGR blocker plate to monitor. No need to buy a probe.
Not at all. My installer actually cut the pipe a bit so it would be back a bit further. Darren32 (on FTE/PSN/.org) has the same system and it comes close but it is fine. I like the clean look on the sides of the truck without the exhaust showing and will love it when towing my boat now.
