7.3 OBS Build Advice - 400 HP Goal

Why no need for o-ringing? With an bigger than stock turbo and more fueling i would think o-rings were in the cards. I've never heard of 7.3's popping head gaskets like the 6.0s do, i just figured while the heads are off, better to o-ring for worst case.

7.3 OBS Build Advice - 400 HP Goal

7.3 OBS Build Advice - 400 HP Goal

My roommate bought a '96 F250 4x4 June of 2013. Him and I replaced all rear hangers, shackles, both fuel tanks, and shocks and POR15'ed the frame within a month of buying it. He parked it September of 2015 with a leaking fuel system, power steering pump, rotten rad support, cracked rad, rotten...

    Front Dampner Removal

Awesome! Yup that helps alot. Im going to grab some 3/8" - 16 bolts and try them. The threads in the dampner were pretty dirty and could definitely be chased.

    Front Dampner Removal

Helping a friend rebuild his OBS 7.3. We tore the engine down yesterday and all that is left is to remove the damper, front cover and then pull the crank out. We bought one of those $15 puller sets from Harbor Freight that comes with 30 different bolts. I tried a few from the set and only...

    +08 Tail Lights

Update to the thread. Got the lights installed this weekend. Brake light sockets from my 04 worked perfect. I cut the 921 pigtails off the harness i bought off eBay and wired them into my 04 for the reverse lights. I had to pick up light sockets from Advanced Auto for $16 each to then attach...

    +08 Tail Lights

Found a harness on eBay for $50 shipped, just has the main connection plug to the truck harness cut, thats the one I ordered. I also saw a harness with the plug not cut for $75, I can try to dig the link up if you are interested.

    +08 Tail Lights

Thanks for the info. I did get the tail lights in the mail on Friday, but I wont be home to install them until this weekend. Also ordered the harness, so I'll rob the Reverse sockets off the harness and install the whole mess.

    +08 Tail Lights

I know this has been done, but in my searching I can't find any solid info on how to complete this. I am putting 2008+ tail lights on my 2004. Ive heard longer pigtails are needed to extend the harness the reach the lights, since the reverse lights are on the top now. Are new style lights...

ISO 6.0 Driver Side Valve Cover

Looking for a Drivers Side Valve Cover for a 2003 6.0. I bought one from an 06 and the breather is mounted externally with no room for the FICM to mount. Also it seems like it is a shallower valve cover because it wouldn't seat right on the top of the head. I am in need of this yesterday, of...

    6.0 Specialty Tools

Just started tearing into my 6.0 a few weeks ago. If there is one thing i hate is not having the right tool for the job. So i talked to my Snap-On guy and bought what i think is the list of tools he carries for 6.0s. Heres a list of Tools I have bought so far: - 14mm Semi Deep Socket...

    Torque Converter Nut Removal 5R110

Thanks! I was wondering if a medium deep socket would do the trick. But I'll be sure to look for the hole on the drivers side this weekend when i get back at it.

    Torque Converter Nut Removal 5R110

The inspection cover on the bottom of the adapter plate correct? That's what I was referring to where I removed the rubber grommet from. About 2" tall and 4" long? I used a 3/8 snap on flex head ratchet, 1" craftsman extension and 14mm shallow craftsman socket. If I removed the 1" extension...

    Torque Converter Nut Removal 5R110

Finally in the process of pulling the 6.0 from my 04 to do a rebuild on the engine. Obviously during the process I had to remove the 6 Torque Converter nuts. My question is what is the easiest way to remove said nuts? I removed the rubber grommet from the adapter on the block to access the...

    6.0 Up Pipe

Yes, early 04. Build date on FICM is late 03 from what i remember. What i should have said in my original post, is the price posts on the 3 options don't bother me. Ill gladly pay more for something that would work better and last longer. I just wasn't sure if there was a stainless unit or...

    6.0 Up Pipe

Cab will be coming off in a few weeks for studs, injectors, o-ringed heads, etc. In the process of doing this, I plan to replace the up-pipe, since they tend to eventually break. My question is, what up pipes has everyone had luck with? My Google search brings me to 3 options, the Ford factory...
