The sub is a 10W3. Height is ~17-18 inches. Inside the console below the cup holders is a JX500-1 amp, and the forward half of the box houses wires, crossovers, etc.

Does cruise control make any difference? I've been battling similar issues for the past year and the cps did not fix my problems. Could be pcm, uvch, loose/ bare wires, or possibly a tranny issue.

Yes sir... except for the fiberglass reinforcement where I kerfed the ''lid'' which was very easy to do.
