I wonder how long it actually takes for the problem to become visible, to start exhibiting symptoms and show signs of rusting. Tanks are being checked for fuel contamination but I'm wondering if by the time the truck is having a problem, has the bad tank of fuel already been consumed and...
I could be wrong, I was thinking he was referring to steering response. How much wheel movement you get for a given amount of steering wheel input. A longer pitman arm would move the wheel more for the same amount of steering wheel movement. This assumes the steering gear has the same ratio in...
Sorry, I misspoke in my last post. The lower spring seat is the same position relative to the radius arm mounts. It is the "C" upright that is spaced farther from the spring seat. Whereas on the F250 and standard width F350 the spring seat is basically cast into the side of the "C", on the...
Wider track width is due to a wider axle, not wider spacers. I've seen photos of the underside of trucks equipped and the lower coil spring perch is clearly separated from the radius arm mounts at least a couple of inches compared to the standard track axle.
There are differences in the spring packs between some year groups but there are only two spring lengths. 1999-2007 Super Duties use the shorter length spring pack. 2008-2016 use the longer length spring pack. In 2011, Ford changed the spring pack, it is supposed to be smoother riding. However...
$1000 or more is pretty stiff for doing the balljoints but that seems to be the average. I would personally prefer to do it myself but it seems like most shops are in that range and I don't really blame them, it's not a small job. No way though would I spend $500 for a shop to do tie-rods. It's...
Your track bar balljoint will sit like that on a lifted truck. The more you lift it the worse the angle gets. That's the reason Carli chose to angle the end of their bar. The balljoint end is not inline with the bar like it is on the factory bar. That Carli piece has an angle to it that allows...
Really? I was referring to the mounting point on the axle for the sway bar link. The 2005-07 has a threaded stud on the bottom of the link that passes through the mount on the axle. It somewhat limits articulation and some say it's prone to breaking under hard use. I thought beginning in 2008...
When you say 2005+, it may be helpful to specify what year it came from. 2005-07, 2008-10, 2011-16 each used a different swaybar link and the attachment on the axle is different. It may not matter to some people, to others it might.
