I'd disagree that power has literally nothing to do with fuel economy... there is a fine line where power does impact fuel economy. Sure mopeds get great mileage, but there are also under-powered cars and SUVs that get crappy mileage compared to ones with more appropriate power levels. How about the difference in towing mpg with different power levels? As far as increasing mpgs, the only thing that did that for me was small injector upgrade and tunes (about 1.5-2 mpg) which helped cancel out some of the losses from the lift, wheels, and tires. I was curious what the difference really was so I used to hand calculate and adjust for tire size since the odometer is off... My X is mostly stock... intake/exhaust, set of 175/146 sticks, WW2, and tunes. Used to get 16-17. Now with lift, wheels and tires and we're at 14-15 uncorrected in town. CCSB full built motor truck (also lifted) gets 14 mpg uncorrected with similar driving in town so even heavily modded power levels didn't hurt the mpg that much (yes, I realize it is lighter than the X). Now if I drive the CCSB the way it was meant to be driven, MPGs are the last thing on my mind and it shows when I have to fill up LOL Depends on what you want to spend and what you want out of the tire/what you use the truck for. There are plenty of tire threads, you'll find guys that like most of the big brands and completely different opinions on Toyos. Everything from 50k+ to junk and they won't last 20k. Honestly, if you have a tire you like, I'd stick with it until you have a reason to change or find something you really want to try.
