A friend of mine has an 08 6.4 and has been complaining about high EGTs and terrible gas mileage since he bought it. He says the RPMs seem high also, as the truck stays at or above 1800 rpm at any speed less than interstate speeds. Has has the DPF delete and that is his only mod. The truck came with an Edge Juice programmer on the dash. He bought an H & S XRT Pro for the delete tune also. He was told he could leave the EDGE on "stock" power and use it as a gauge display. He runs the tunes from the H & S. Is this causing him problems? I've read on 6.0 forums that the edge tuners are bad news for them. Does that apply to 6.4's also?

ive always been told that if you take the truck back to stock with the edge, then load what ever programmer you wanted on the truck and then re plugged in the edge to the OBII port that it would act as gagues only and that it didnt have to have a tune on the truck to work as a gauge set up

some of the old edge stuff hardwired back in the days, when 7.3 were hot chit.

all the edge stuff now goes through the obd port. i would be interested to know what he has?

on edit. i just looked at edges site. their juice with attitude still hooks up under the hood. it hooks to the tubo, and some other stuff. i would get rid of that crap, and run some other type of monitor. cts even...

I don't know what edge has for power settings but he would have to return the truck back to stock through the tuner, and then load the h&s tuner. If he doesn't be might have a hell of a time getting his stock file.

I know on my edge race it will plug into the OBD port and also when I changed it to my spartan and H&S I never had any problems with it....

He pulled off his edge and he reloaded the H & S. He thought truck was driving stronger, but apparently it caused something to drain the batteries within a few hours of each shutoff. He got the latest flash to return to a clean stock file and reloaded the H & S. Now he's happy except for his gas mileage. But after reading some of these MPG threads, I think he's normal.

The shop he went to for the stock flash, said they have seen it before when guys just removed the Edge.
