I'm sure this has been discussed before but can't seem to find the definitive asnswer. To start out my rig I pull daily is my cclb 2008 f350 4x4, full ******s, studded tuned by minimaxx in tow setting, torque shift trans and 255/80/17 tires. Trailer is 20 + 5 tandem dually, mostly pulling my 10,000 lb skid steer around. With my truck trailer and skid steer with transfer tank of fuel I'm at 26,260 lbs. I get around 8 mpg with it. My question is would running a 35" tire improve my mpg's? I need to get tires soon and want to know for an informed decision. I hauled a load for a buddy this weekend with an enclosed 24' gooseneck. Empty trailer up to Chicago I averaged 12 at 72 mph. I was loaded with about 8 tons in a 7 ton trailer. So I took it slow 62 mph on the way back which is at around 1800 rpms I got better than 10 mpg on the way back. Which is why I was thinking 35's would drop my rpm's and improve my mpg's. Anybody have an answer or input? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
