[QUOTE="estrada5.9, post: 134086, member: 1670"] Aren't the inline six engines known for low end torque? In general. Fords I-6 300 c.u. gas motor. For those who have driven one. Over the road trucks I-6. I-6 Cummins I drove a 6.0 6spd, seemed to like the rev's, mostly top end and thats why they seem slow with a standard tranny because you may not shift up that high in normal driving. Cummins engine seem to have much more low end due to there design. Hence why he pulled away when it shifted to over drive and dropped the rpms down and pulled harder. 5.9 Cummins is 4.02 with a 4.72 stroke makes for a good low end due to better leverage on crank and other factors. 4.21 and 4.88 for the 6.7 Cummins 3.74 and 4.13 for the 6.0. PSD 4.11 and 4.18 for the 7.3 PSD 3.86 and 4.13 for the 6.4 PSD 3.90 and 4.25 for the 6.7 PSD As the bore gets closer to the stroke in size the more the engine favors higher rpm. As it gets closer to over square the more the top end increases. Under square would be bore smaller than stroke. A good over square example would be a 327 sb chevy 4.00 bore and 3.25 stroke those engines love to rev. Of course tuning can help with the feel of the engine but by design I-6 has the advantage.
