The drivetrain will be removed for mods and engine bay paint when I do this anyway, so it should be pretty easy. If for some reason, there is an unforeseen complication with grafting at the factory joint, then at least I have the option of splicing it back a little further. There are a lot of other ways I could go about doing it, but I've had it in my mind exactly how I want it done, so this is the route I'm taking.
