After I spent countless hours in my parents attached garage after school I ended up with a 99f150 with a om617.951 engine/ Mercedes 4spd auto. 2wd truck made driveline easy... Dropped tank, cleaned it out filled it with diesel, ripped the fuel filler neck flap out so a diesel nozzle would fit in there and of course put a stack in the box. Did it work? Hardly. Highway gears in the Ford kept the Mercedes engine too low in its rpm range on the highway making it sluggish. 0-60 mph in 1min 20sec. Awesome mileage! 1000km/ 100L tank. But did anyone else have one? Nope. And did I learn a lot? Oh yeah! Might not make sense to most people why I do what I do, but I do it for the lols and to educate myself. How else will I get old and wise? Tell my children "you must always intercooler your Diesel engine" and when they ask why all I'll be able to tell them is "cause the guys on psa said so"...
