Ok so. As you know when the t/c system senses rear wheel slippage it unlocks the converter to acheave as close to zero wheel spin as possible. So in my latest broken oil pump scenario, I forgot to shut off the advance trac. I was spooling up at a light, it turned green and I feathered the throttle till I was through the intersection (20lbs boost and in lockup in first gear at say 3500-4000 rpm) at which point I hammered down to beat the guy beside me. There was no wheel spin until I punched it. Boost is instantaneous from 20-80lbs boost, truck senses wheel spin, unlocks the (being a high stall) converter rpm jump from 4000rpm to 5k+ (gauge doesn't go any higher) but I'm sure they went to the moon and back faster than I can let off the fuel. And that is the story about the last factory oil pump.
