on a hard run my battery light will flicker so i started looking at the voltage on the back of the alt and at the batteries... when i start the truck and check voltages its 14.50ish on the back of the alt, but only 14.30ish at the batteries. cleaned all the terminals up real good.

is this drop normal or should i start looking at other stuff?

Check the fuseable links on the small cable coming from the pass side battery.

Nvm 7.3..

Those fuseable links are on the starter realy on the inner fender.

Since the light isn't flickering at idle, you need to hookup a gauge and see what it is on a hard run when the light starts flickering.

sounds good higher than mine has ever been and I run a DC Power alt

and a bat light can also flicker at an overcharge

never hurts to get each batt load tested however

Did you check to make sure all your connections/grounds are all tight?

cleaned and tightened, then drove it, no flickering light.. one ground on the block didnt have the washer that gouges the seel for a better connection. prolly auta find one of those.... so between the slightly loose positive post and a bad ground im thinking one or both was the culprit.

The condition of the ground is a culprit is some very weird problems with any electronic controlled engine.
