Having owned 2 V10's a 2v version and the 3v version, I will tell you my experiences. In my opinion the v10 is the best gas engine Ford has ever made, especially the 3v from '05 to the present. The best bang for the buck performance mod is gears. For stock sized tires 4:30's are the best, then a tune from Mike at 5star tuning, and if want a better sound just switch out the muffler. As far as a clutch, just stick with factory parts unless you are going to run a supercharger or tubo, if that's the case then go with Centerforce. Make sure and change the plugs at 50,000 mile intervals if you do you will never have a plug issue. The ticking is probably exhaust manifold studs, in my neck of the woods there is a guy who the local dealership calls in to do studs and he is cheap, the dealer won't even bother doing them anymore. You need to find someone like that or just do it yourself. Also you could get Banks headers, they do make a nice set of headers but they are pricey, Doug Thorley also makes headers for these trucks. Using their fasteners usually eliminates the stud issue.
