[QUOTE="B585Ford, post: 668027, member: 5497"] IMO this has been a great thread overall so I don't see any use on creating any further derails. I will send you a PM. Now, back to the topic...as it has been said over and over, if man makes it, it will break. I can't imagine anyone on this forum doesn't know that BUT some sh#t/products break easier than others. For example, it seems like most of you agree that SC doesn't hold as well as some other builders' trannies. Questions like the OP is asking is how we find out that kind of info since there aint no Consumer Reports for aftermarket diesel products. At least to me, trying to find out more about what caused such and such's 5r or 4r failures is legit. Granted if Mike D, Craig, Mike C, Colton, etc. break a tranny, it don't tell us much cause they are known to drive the h#ll out of their high HP trucks...but if I hear 10 whatever brand failed within a year on trucks with mild builds who don't beat the p#ss out of the their trucks, I think I would consider buying something else. That is why I want to hear about 4r or 5r failures (whichever brand it is...BTS, Elites, etc.). I do acknowledge that since Brian has a great reputation as a builder and backing up his products, the OP would probably be fine in whichever one he chooses for his expected HP and driving style, but it is still worthwhile to the goods and bads that people have experienced with all the brands.
