it definitely depends.. ie, if you order a set of 250/200's and a full T4 turbo kit, with an S475 charger...and the associated $6k worth of chit you need it to run full tilt....you'll get one mild tune, a high idle...and a tow (based on elevation, gear ratio, turbo size, etc)...but you'll be damned sure you're going to have a hot/race tune that will do.work. if you buy a set of 175 single shots/stock nozzle...and send in your own chip (with no notes on 'application' whatsoever)...but the paper work says L99 manual, 4.10 gears...at high elevation..then I'm probably not going to make that truck an 'on/off' switch with pedal sensitivity. so no...you may not get what you want..but you'll get what I think you want based on what you tell me about your truck/usage... if you're overly concerned with getting it right the first time...then you may want to invest in a HydraChip...where I routinely make adjustments (mostly guys' personal preference on shifting, either shift points or crispness)and email changes at no charge...but even with 'only' 6 programs on the TS chip..you'll prooooobbbabbbly find a wide range of tuning/power levels...each with its' own shift points & characteristics...as long as you provide a decent amount of info when you send in your chip. for customers sending own chip for free reprogramming, we (insist?) recommend that each customer fill out the following: http://swampsdiesel.com/files/RMA.pdf also, on your invoice...it'll request you provide: Vehicle build date: Auto or Manual: Gear ratio if Auto Trans: Tire size if Auto Trans: Injector size: Do you have California emissions? We will need DPC-xxx: Excursions/E-series, etc...are odd ball enough (generally) for those customers to know to mention...but sometimes we'll shoot out a 'loaner' chip for guys that didn't specify enough (or we didn't ask enough Qs), and you receive a chip not 'right' for your application... application is really what *I* like to know... daily driving/towing? hot street/infrequent towing? race/sled pull? etc... any specific questions should come to tuning AT swampsdiesel.com
