Cylinder contribution test. Buzz test shouldn't matter. All it does is make sure the solenoid is being energized.

Try doing a buzz test cold. I don't think I have ever seen a buzz test failure when warm (unless the injector is just dead or disconnected). The test may pass, but you want to listen to the sound of each injector and make sure they sound the same. If one is really quite, that is reason for concern.

If you are having a dead miss, you can pull the valve covers off and disconnect one injector at a time while the truck is running. If the engine stumbles and runs worse, that injector was working. If it doesn't change, then you have found a problem.

A temp gun to the exhaust manifold when the engine is running but cold may work too. Just aim it at each individual inlet on the manifold. If one cylinder is significantly colder than others, there is a problem.

Sounds like good info there. I've heard that if the poppet valve is very worn the vacuum that is created on the oil side can cause a muted injector sound. This may just be in very extreme cases though. I'm definitely a rookie at this. I'm going to try this next time I have a chance on a cold morning.

remove the solenoid from the 'clapper' -- see if the armature plate screw is loose on the poppet valve. If it is, get the Nintendo tool and tighten it a little.

Check for leaking around the manifold and broken bolts. That will make it have a ticking noise while accelerating.

Stock ad's, or a 160/30 is the biggest I'd go on stock fuel, oil and air. Performance injection systems is my preferred brand but swamps, unlimited, rosewood, full force all make good products

The dually ran 175/30s with a stock turbo and ported housing. Ran good and clean.
