[QUOTE="TARM, post: 1068497, member: 578"] Specific to the oil filler cap I think the Ford Racing offers a billet breathable oil filler cap that fits ours. I can not recall who on here has one but I saw it in a pic and someone asked what it was and that is what they commented about it. I have not checked it out yet. But all the drop in pressure you can have is a good thing there so.... But I would not make that my main CCV as I think you will run into the issues Tim mentioned. In the case of main CCV application I am with Tim on this and have done it to a number of gassers just have not gotten around to it with the 7.3 You can actually go to big rig/industrial stores and pick up a piece of 4" exhaust pipe that has you would put right after your down pipe and it has the nipple already welded in at the correct 45° angle. Donalson actually sells them as parts to be used as part of the intake kits. On the OTR and industrial engines they use these for dust collection from the intake and thus its routed there but will do the same for the exhaust. You do want the back flow valve which is just a piece you plug into the hose line and it prevents any sudden exhaust surge that sometimes can happen at start up from sending pressure the other way. But the system will create a vacuum pull on the from the CCV much like it does when its routed the factory way into the intake but instead of all the oil crap going thru your turbo IC and engine it will be evacuated directly thru the exhaust. Just make sure you have that back flow valve or whatever they call it for this application as otherwise you run the chance of pressurizing the CC with exhaust gas which will have oil blowing out the seals etc. Before all the strict emissions they use to be poplar and I think you can still find kits for them. Now they want everything including all the erosive byproducts from combustion being rerouted back thru the intake and engine all over again to scrub it and lower emissions but in doing so significantly increase engine wear. Whats cool with the add on part is for those that do not weld its just a piece to add inline to the exhaust piping and it has the correct angle not to mention a certain depression shape upstream of it that from the looks is to increase the venturi effect and create more vacuum. It has to work fairly well and create a decent flow if its able to pull dust down from the intake when its actually working against the draw of the engine intake at the same time. Now if you want to loose the doghouse I can think of a way you could do both. Add a Tee to the oil filler tube or make an attachment to the end ( I am sure you can work up a cap using some rubber boot/hose etc) Point being have the CCV vent thru the oil fill tube and have that attached to either atmosphere or ideally the exhaust for more positive venting.
