2006, F250 6.0 around 190,000 miles. Scanning with Autoenguinity enhanced Ford Package, software. I am trying to help out my neighbor with his 6.0. I have been working on this truck for a couple years now for him. There are a boat load of weird electrical gremlins in this truck. For example, about two weeks ago he gets a check engine light. I pull the codes and it's showing a P0299, (Turbo Under-boost) and a P0620 (Generator Control Circuit) I clear the codes, and sometimes they both pop right back up, and other times it goes away for a couple of days. Regardless they both pop up at the same time but they have no relationship connection in any service manual or bulletin I can find. Below is the flow graph of the go to sensors I checked. Everything seems to be running where it is suppose to be. Turbo Variable Geometry Cycle seems to be operating properly. He had the Turbo serviced in 2022. The service order states they cleaned the veins and the Unison Ring. I ran an open/closed test using AE, and the actuator seems to be working properly. He did have some issues a few years ago with his intercooler couplers blowing off on the high side, and although everything looks good right now I have not done a Boost Leak Test all be doing that tomorrow just to confirm nothing has an intermittent leak. I went ahead and replaced the MAP hose, and ran a wire through the Nipple. MAP sensor seems to be working withing parameters. The only other thing I have not done is pullet the EBP and the tube, again doing that tomorrow just to make sure, but under testing the EBP seems to operating properly. Regarding the P0620. He has dual alternators and they seem to be charging the system fine at around 13.1-13.4 volts. Any suggestion on what could case these two codes to throw together would be great.
