that's where its leaking, I tried locating it from the top and can't see chit, any ideas what that is. whatever it is it goes to the block. i'd like to think its something egr related, but i can see the cooler on the driver side and its dry all around, so i don't think that is the case for me.

I am thinking that it is the radiator hose leaking. If you don't have the updated radiator hoses that have two O-rings in them, that should take care of your problem from what it looks like to me.

man i hope so, i've been told they should be white on the engine side, I quite positive they are black, was that a recall or anything, either way its under warranty from the place i bought it, and ford so i shouldn't have to pay to get it fixed this time. thanks!

:rockon:That would be the first place to start boss.

not me, but a tech at A:the dealer I bought it from 45 days ago or B:ford because it is under warranty from both currently. :ford:

That's your problem. Done 5 sets on 6.4s recently. The leak looks identical.

that really would be amazing, I'm still learning about these animals you guys call 6.4's but I figured if i posted a picture someone on here would see it and know exactly what it is or have a very good idea of what it is. that way when i go to the dealer I can tell them where it may be coming from so they don't have to spend a day on diag, then another half a day fixing. needless to say I don't have a lot of confidence in the techs at the dealer I bought it from, it seems they do good work, but I just don't trust them yet, they have a rep for bad customer service, so far though they have been good to me.
thanks!

When they put in the updated hose, they can see the EGR cooler pipe that's behind it. Sometimes that O-ring will leak, bur usually after it's been messed with. Most likely the updated lower hose will take care of your problem.

I have done a few sets and the leak location and amount looks identical to some I have seen. Get the updated hose and since they are going to exchange the old coolant with new coolant under warranty you could pick up some of the CAT coolant and not have to worry about many cooling issues down the road. Depending on if your dealer will let you use your own coolant since they are the ones doing the coolant exchange.

The lower hoses have been updated as well? Both lowers or just one? I changed my upper, maybe I should have done the lower to!

Ok, that's enough with cutting on a Focus. I gotta '08 beater - no power locks/windows...but it is very cheap to drive. Just replaced all 4 tires for less than 1 of my truck's tires.

yes car tires are very cheap...i've only bought two sets of tires for a car one for my 1987 toyota cressida if you can remember those gems and i put bridgestone potenza g009's on it 400 for all 4 otd, those tires are what subaru sti's were running off the showroom floor so they are sticky. but cars are cheap to run.
