I just installed the turbo time add on to my cts. It has 2 options for cool down. Time or egt. So which should I do? If egt to which temp is good to shut down?

I always look for under 300 degrees which might be overkill but I'd rather, in my case, wait a few mins then coke a turbo.

The genera rule is 400deg. but 300deg. is being super safe. Some people do time to suit their needs because it doesn't take these trucks long to cool down.

I would do it with time. Maybe 20-30 seconds after key is switched off. It is kinda hard to describe the reasoning behind this but your air temp doesn't really reflect the turbo temp as air temp will cool quicker than the metal components.

I might adjust it up to 300 when it gets hot out. But right now a or temp is low 70s so doesn't take long to get egts low.

Is this really worth having, it only takes 15-20 seconds after pulling in the driveway until mine hits 300 or below, even in the summer. Most the times it's cooled enough after me rustling around to make sure I grab everything from my truck

It's worth it to me when my gf does a mile long burn out down the street than comes back and turns it off.

LOLLOL Fair enough. I got my wife trained that she has to let it get down to 300 and no one else drives my truck, but if they did, I would have one too.

They are easy to teach, mine knows to wait for that egt gauge to read 300 or below. And she yells at me if I turn it off it's it's above 300 even by one degree
