If you dont strongly impluse the hose, it will live a long time. We have -6 static pressure jack hoses that sit at 10,000 for days on end but would not live in a dynamic application. At the end of the day, the heat is still the biggest issue (that is why teflon was originally used--there was no real stout rubber hose at the time).
