The fuel thats in the bowl looks just fine. Did it just start burning that much oil or has it for a while and thats why you replace the o rings? I would think that either you messed up more than a couple o rings or you didnt get them seated in the head properly and its just blowing bye!

The trucks been using oil since i bought it.
I replaced the oil cooler o-rings when i resealed the motor.
I believe the truck is about due for a service. But i think there is probably around 8000 km on the fuel filter.

Lincoln locker when you say blow bye do you mean oil is leaking into the cylinder or?
Also should i be using a special tool to seat the injectors. Before i was just using a mallet to start them and then bolting them down the rest of the way to seat them.

You never want to seat the injectors with the hold down bolts. I use a rubber mallet to tap them till they seat.

:whs:

And blowby is compression gasses blowing by the rings and into the crancase. A small amount is normal. A simple down and dirty test: with the engine running, remove the 710 cap (oil fill cap), turn it upside down and place it on the oil fill tube. If it sets there and wiggles around or even vibrates off, all is well. However, if it is blown off by gasses leaving the tube, that is bad.

Sorry, i ment if the injector wasnt seated proper the oil is blowing by the orings and into the cylinders.. but yes what arisly said to check is also a good thing to check... could be all of the above... when you seat the injectors u should use a rubber malett and tap them into place until you hear them seat in.... it will sound like a tung tung PING when it seats... then use a tq wrench and tq them down NOT by feel..

Ironically enough you seen to be in the same boat i am as far as oil loss and blue smoke on start up. Although i loose about 2 quarts every 3500. I've done injector O rings, gps, gpr, reseal the turbo, added an oil air sep on the ccv line and nothing. i am now saving up to send my injectors to get rebuilt after a conversation w/ "golfer" in a thread i started a while back.

I was thinking about sending my injectors in for some stage 1's. Because of the high km on my truck and the issues i was thinking i could cover the bases.

My truck smokes a bit blue on start up as well, new injectors and o-rings three months ago, no abnormal oil consumption (maybe 1/4L every 5,000miles/8,000kms). Not sure I'd worry too much about it.

As far as the lack of power, what do you make for max boost? Could be a boost leak?

My truck smokes a big cloud of blue especially when the temperature drops. I'm not too concerned about the smoke itself as its a 7.3. Its the oil consumption. I don't want to travel far and have to worry about how much oil its using and if its too low.

I have gauges. Boost is fine i can make easy 31 psi of boost on my street tune from tdp.
I have beans machined brass up-pipe donuts and intake plenum inserts plus after market inter-cooler boots. Stock i can make 21 psi of boost under WOT.

I'm thinking it may be my hpop is worn out. As far as i know its original.

Transmission fluid is fine and at the right level.

May-bey my injectors could be worn. I have noticed whenever i start the truck even when the motor is warmed up a puff of black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. This could be normal though i dunno. During cold temperature's my truck does not smoke white like some of the trucks i have seen in videos. Only blue. Which is peculiar.
